This pair of original WWI German military binoculars is an early example of prism binoculars. The triangular aluminum barrels have rounded edges and are covered with brown leather. A leather neck-strap is looped through the leather on each barrel. It is stamped "C.P. GOERZ BERLIN" on the front face of the left barrel. It is stamped "TRIEDER BINOCLE" with a triangular prism figure on the front face of the right barrel. "12X" and "GERMANY" is stamped on the bridge connecting the barrels on the eyepiece end. The serial number "117321" is stamped on the objective end of the connecting bridge. Central thumbwheels are used for focusing and adjusting for eye separation.
